Mr. Popper's Penguins is a family comedy film that returns Carrey to the comedy style - and movie character - that catapulted him to global superstardom.
Based on an award winning novel, the film centers around Mr. Popper (Carrey), a highly successful real estate developer in Manhattan, who is separated from his wife and two kids. Mr. Popper seems to be living an exciting life in luxury when suddenly, out of the blue; he lands up with 6 live penguins at his house!
Failing every attempt to get rid of the creatures, Popper slowly gets acquainted with - and increasingly attached to - his winged roommates. And so Popper's life quickly unravels: his swanky New Yorkapartment is turned into a snowy winter wonderland, the deal he's long been working on is derailed, and he almost lands in jail! But thanks to his new charges, Popper comes to understand the importance of family - human and otherwise.
